MandyHome – Day 1
I’M IN! I’m surrounded by boxes, but I’m finally in my apartment.
Honestly, when I first walked in, I hated it. (I hadn’t looked at the apartment before signing the lease, I rented it based on the fact that I assumed it was the same as my friend, who lived in the same building.) It’s exactly the same, but when I first walked in, there was no stuff (obviously) and it looked smaller, it looked BLAH… I was also bitchy from the move, so I immediatly picked out what I hated about it and moved my stuff in.
Now that I’m here, I totally like it. The fact that I’m sitting in my underwear while I write this TOTALLY helps. My stuff makes it look more like me, and it’s only going to get better. I’m happy about it now. I also slept off the moving crusties, so I’m good. 😀 I’ve had my first pot of coffee in the new place and I feel more at home…
*On the coffee note… I need spoons. Apparently, I only “acquired” forks and knives from places (bars when drunk), as I can’t find a single spoon in my apartment. I had the pleasure of fisting my coffee into the filter this morning. I did find out that a handful of coffee makes for the perfect half pot though. 😉
Where am I at unpacking you ask? Well the kitchen is pretty much unpacked but sitting all over the counter, as I found out I don’t own dishcloths or sponges apparently. (Trip to Walmart this afternoon is on the menu already, EFF! There’s only one thing I hate more than Walmart… and that’s Walmart on the weekend… WAH WAH!!!) I’ve come to realized that I have WAY too many frying pans and not much of anything else. Between stuff that I got from friends and my two personal fry pans, I now have 8 of them. Anyone for breakfast? 🙂 *(One of them does have a lid, so I’m renaming that one “Pot” until I get myself a set.)
Except for the kitchen boxes, the rest of my house is still in a box. The mounds of boxes are behind me, I’ve set up my living room and office so that all my chairs face away from the piles of “To-do’s”. Out of sight, out of mind… til I need something. 😀
OMG! Last night, I remembered I have Darth Vader mask in one of these boxes… That may be what I hunt for today. 🙂
